Have you ever tried watching the exciting dragon boat races while sipping a glass of icy smoothie and savoring delectable international cuisine on the waterfront?

If you fancy such a wonderful experience, the oceanfront alfresco dining destination in Discovery Bay is the best place to go during the Dragon Boat Festival this year.

Discovery Bay, characterized with its multi-cultural and exquisite lifestyle, will host the 19th Discovery Bay Dragon Boat Races on 8 June 2008.

With 180-degree breathtaking sea views, more than 20 international restaurants along the promenade of Discovery Bay offer the best vantage point to enjoy the races.

During the intermissions, you can also shop and enjoy the amusing performances at an open-air bazaar held at the Discovery Bay Piazza, which is part of a two-day Carnival to be held on 7 and 8 June 2008. There will be around 60 booths selling snacks, specialty merchandises and home-made products. Five kid zones, fantastic magic shows, singing and stage performances will surely entertain visitors young and old.

Participating Teams: Over 44 teams consisting of over 1,000 participants from Discovery Bay, local organizations & commercial corporations

Carnival
Date & Time: 7-8 June 2008, 11am – 5.30pm
Venue: Discovery Bay Piazza, Discovery Bay
Entry: Free of charge

About the oceanfront alfresco dining destination in Discovery Bay
Situated next to Discovery Bay Pier, the more than 20 thematic restaurants along the promenade of Discovery Bay connecting to the Tai Pak Beach offer a relaxing and spacious environment. With spectacular 180° sea views and nightly Disneyland fireworks, they make dining a stimulating experience and offer delectable choices of international menu such as Fagara Chinese Restaurant (Chinese), First Korean Restaurant (Korean), Ippu Japanese Restaurant (Japanese) and Koh Tomyums (Thai) for Asian cuisine; Café de Paris (French), Café Duvet (Tapas & Dessert), McSorley’s Ale House (Irish Pub /Indian) for European tastes, Caramba (Mexican) and Hemingway’s by the Bay (Caribbean) for south-middle American cuisine. Other thematic restaurants include Manta Ray offering imported seafood and oysters; Wildfire Fresh serving freshly made healthy cuisine and Dymocks & Gallery Café merging the culture of bookstore and Café; last but not least is ZAKS, which serves international cuisine with alfresco seating area of 5,000 sq. ft. in resort style.

Easily accessible, Discovery Bay is just 25 minutes away from Central by ferry or 15 minutes away from Tung Chung or Sunny Bay MTR Stations by shuttle bus.

Remarks:
The free ferry ride offer is valid for dinner consumption from Monday to Friday, and lunch/dinner consumption on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. The ferry voucher is valid on the same day of the transaction, and for the following schedules only: Mon-Fri: 7:30pm-00:20am; Sat/Sun/public holiday: 1:00pm-00:20am. The 15 designated restaurants include: Café de Paris, Café Duvet, Caramba Mexican Cantina, Ebeneezer’s, Fagara Chinese Restaurant, First Korean Restaurant, Hemingway’s by the Bay, Ippu Japanese Restaurant, Koh Tomyums, Manta Ray Seafood Restaurant, McSorley’s Ale House, Sopranos, The Flying Pan DB, Wildfire Fresh and ZAKS.
